FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

1.      Why do I have condensation on my windows?

2.      I have received my measuring form, what do I need to do now? How will I know if I measured correctly? 

If you have questions or concerns on measuring, please refer to our website, www.miwd.com and click on the HomeOwner/Customer Care button.  You will be directed to videos that will assist you with measuring.( http://www.miwd.com/miscPages/customercareVideos.aspx) If you have a form, please complete it in its entirety (i.e. color, grids, quantity, etc.) so that we can ensure correct ordering of the product.  The forms also include measuring instructions and all orders are checked for accuracy. 

3.      What documents do I need to provide in order to show proof of purchase or that I am the original homeowner?

Any form of documentation that states the date you purchased the product/home is helpful.  The builder would have the records of sale which would have this information as well.  Tax assessment papers showing the year that the home was built, customer receipt, or invoice would also include this information. 

4.      What information is needed to order parts for my product?

It is important to have as much detailed information as possible. Proper measurements for sash/panel replacement, as well as, your product series number are necessary for us to place an order for you.  If needed, visual aides, such as emailing pictures of your product can also be of assistance. 

5.      How do I find out what series or model product I have?

Please look for a gold or silver identification label which is the AAMA Certification label. You can also find this information on a white warranty label.  Your product labels can be found on the header of the mainframe or sill area.  We do prefer the label information rather than the subdivision or builders name, in which we do not keep on file.  For examples of our labels, please visit us at www.miwd.com, click on the customer care link. 6.      How long do I have to wait for my replacement parts to be shipped to me?

Please allow 10-12 business days for your parts to arrive. If it has been more them 12 days, please email us at customercare@miwd.com 

7.      Will MI Windows & Doors contact me if my package was damaged during the shipping process?

If we receive notification from Federal Express for a damaged shipment, MIWD will place another order for the damaged package.  If you have not received your replacement package, please email us at customercare@miwd.com 

8.      Does MI Windows & Doors install full products?

MIWD provides installation instructions, however, as the manufacturer; we do not install full products.  We do have a field service department that can assist with any replacement or damaged products where warranted.
